Nineteen of Medvedev's twenty-one championships have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the Almaty Open final.
The athlete, a ex- number one, has had a difficult season, managing just a single victory at the major tournaments and suffering a meltdown at the US Open.
Medvedev's varied form on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in specific - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and eventually separating with former trainer his previous coach.
Now collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, Medvedev has gradually advanced in the past month - climaxing in a closely contested three-set win over Frenchman Moutet.
It is his initial trophy after the Rome competition and initial on a hardcourt since that period of 2023.
Success also signifies the Russian has won 21 victories at 21 different competitions.
"This marks the first occasion I have attended a competition with my children together, so to secure a title is particularly special," stated ranked player the champion.
"This victory is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the initial championship I got when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."
The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, including in the German tournament in the past months.
His retrieving play style and regular reactions on the playing surface had led commentators to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.
But the 29-year-old has made changes in recent weeks, attempting to advance forward and perform positively, supported by an enhanced serving game.
The champion fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the difficult Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five exchanges to gain the advantage.
Both players traded service breaks in the following set before Moutet, attempting for his maiden professional championship, seized the initiative to push for a final set.
Moutet defended 4 initial opportunities in a close final set before the Russian won the break to 15 to secure the win.
Appropriately, Medvedev clinched the title with a point at the net area, with the Frenchman unable to control a volley after over two and a half hours.
